The "BASEMENT TAPES" PROJECT Goes to Erie

Howard and the band recently performed a one-night-only version of the "Basement Tapes" Project at Mercyhurst Institute in Erie, PA.

Read about the show in the ERIE READER (where it made the top of the paper's "TO DO" list") and in the ERIE TIMES NEWS.

Go onto Facebook to see a shot of the band hanging out backstage. That's Mazz Swift, Jeremy "Bean" Clemons, Howard, and Scott Barkan standing (L to R), and our man Nathan Peck sitting down after a long day.

Michigan and Ohio this week!

Howard Fishman Quartet makes its Michigan and Ohio debuts this week with shows on September 9th at the Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor and September 10 at the Black Swamp Arts Festival in Bowling Green, Ohio.  The two Midwest HFQ shows will feature Mazz Swift on violin, Etienne Charles on trumpet and percussion, and Nathan Peck on upright bass.

Ann Arbor News has just published an advance preview of the Michigan show, writing "Fishman’s songs are richly layered and abstractly evocative, hinting at jazz, folk and cabaret, without ever sacrificing grit or rough edges for the sake of a marketeer’s vision of commercial value."
