THE CALAMITY, a new play by Christopher Wall with music by Howard Fishman, will have a workshop showing on Thursday, November 13th, at 7:30 PM at The Gym at Judson, 243 Thompson Street in New York City, part of the Playwright Realm’s Next Edition Festival.

Directed by Robert Ross Parker and featuring Ryan McCarthy, Matt Citron, Colleen Werthmann & Jamie Ann Romero, THE CALAMITY takes place as a deadly plague sweeps across the country, spawning an epidemic of paranoia and fear. When one small town shuts its doors to the outside world, its residents realize that the cost of survival may be higher than they thought. Will they trade their freedoms, their loyalties to one another, and their dignity to survive?

New Song on Mark McLean's "Feel Alright"

"Surrounded By You," a new musical collaboration between Howard and drummer/composer Mark McLean, is featured on Mark's new album FEEL ALRIGHT, released this week.

Howard wrote the song's lyrics, and the music was co-written by the two longtime collaborators (Mark is the featured drummer on 2002's DO WHAT I WANT album, as well as 2007's BASEMENT TAPES recording).

On the new album, Howard is featured singing and playing the new song, alongside Mark on drums and other regular Fishman band members Russell Farhang (violin) and Nathan Peck (upright bass).

Howard wis scheduled to appear at the CD release show for the new album on Wednesday, May 28 at SubCulture in New York City. For tickets and information, click here.

Connie Converse Returns to New Hampshire

"A Star Has Burnt My Eye," Howard's theatrical work-in-progress about Connie Converse directed by Sarah Hughes, has been invited to be a featured selection for this year's VoxFest at Dartmouth College. The project will be in residence from June 29-July 6.  It seems only appropriate that the first out of town visit for this project will be in Connie's home state of New Hampshire.  Stay tuned for more details!
