This month's free MP3 download (available shortly when the website is updated) is from a performance on December 3, 2005 at The Blackstone River Theater in Cumberland, R.I., one of the final stops on the recent "LOOK AT ALL THIS!" tour. An almost entirely a cappella version of the hymn "When I Die," featuring the voices of the entire quartet was a regular feature of the tour's set and often took audiences by surprise. See what you think!
Greetings and Happy New Year
2001 was the best year yet in HFQ's brief yet lively history. We thought we'd continue our tradition of posting a few highlights just to chart the progress that you all have helped us work so hard to make. If you have a moment, do drop us a line on our forum page. Thanks to those who have shared your thoughts with us -- rest assured that we read every post. Stay tuned for upcoming announcements about our new CD and new tour dates. And here's to a happy, healthy and safe 2002!
Merry Happy and So On
Here's hoping the coming new year brings happiness and peace to all. God bless all and New York City.
Back in the Studio
HFQ has kicked off November by getting back into the studio, recording tracks for what will be album #3. The record is a bit of a departure from the last two, so we're taking our time and keeping our live appearances limited to a few dates in the coming weeks. Look for us every Thursday at PETE'S CANDY STORE, and at select other venues in the area, including a return to JOE'S PUB for a special one-night only tribute to Lonnie Johnson in December. Please note: because of scheduling conflicts, our Nov.5 appearance at Chicago's Steppenwolf Theater has been moved to May 20. Hope to see you at the shows!
Oct Events
October finds HFQ in behind-the-scenes mode: concentrating on preproduction for our third CD (due this winter), writing new material, setting the stage for a possible trip to Texas, and gearing up for our big Chicago debut at The Steppenwolf Theater (November 5)! -- We're back at THE BOTTOM LINE in NYC for two big shows on Saturday, October 27. Come check us out in this legendary venue that's played hosts to the biggest names in rock, blues, country and folk. Also, be sure to tune in to WFMU and WBAI that same afternoon, as we make live radio appearances with two of our biggest supporters, Ms. Laura Cantrell and Mr. Peter Bochan at the Museum of Television and Radio. You can see our schedule page for times and info.
