Erik is going back to school to pursue a degree in musical composition. His final NYC appearance with the band will be on Saturday, June 14 at THE BOTTOM LINE. Erik joined HFQ in September of 2001 and has been a mainstay ever since, touring extensively with the band and appearing on our last two recordings, "I Like You A Lot" and "Do What I Want." His sound and aesthetic have helped to define HFQ's sound and, while it's a loss for the band, the music world only stands to gain. You can keep up with Erik's activities at www.erikjekabson.com, just click the link at top.
Grass Roots Ground Swell
May 2003 saw HFQ played to standing room only houses in Stockton, NJ; Saratoga Springs, NY; and Bridgeport, CT; not to mention the band's always-SRO weekly shows at Pete's Candy Store in Brooklyn. June finds the band making two more New England debuts: HARTFORD, CT on June 27; and GREAT BARRINGTON, MA. on June 29.
Over the Bridges and Through the Woods
HFQ returns to some of our favorite Northeast stomping grounds this month, including stops in Stockton, NJ; Saratoga Springs, NY; Bridgeport, CT; and Pawling, NY. Check the schedule page for details!
One More and We Get Our Degree in Toasted
It was a dark and stormy night (not really) when, 3 years ago, Williamsburg's greatest bar and music venue PETE'S CANDY STORE opened its doors on a Thursday with a party and performance by Brooklyn's own Howard Fishman Quartet. The band has played every Thursday since, virtually uninterrupted, with that little back room quickly becoming our home base, laboratory, freak show and musical forum. Come and help us celebrate the longest running residency in Brooklyn when Pete's hosts a 3RD ANNIVERSARY PARTY on May 22!
