Residency and Concert at Hotchkiss

Howard will be Artist-in Residence at the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, CT from Febraury 4-8, 2014.

During the residency, Howard will work with students and faculty in a variety of classes, talks and workshops, drawing from his experience and work as a songwriter, playwright, theater scholar, composer for stage and film, musical interpreter, performing artist and stage director.

The week will culminate on Saturday evening, February 8, with a performance in Katherine M. Elfers Hall, where Howard will be joined by his band, including Kenny Bentley (sousaphone), Scott Barkan (electric guitar), Mark Williams (trombone) and Moses Patrou (drums).  Admission to the concert is free, but donations will be collected to benefit the Little Guild of St. Frances, a no-kill animal shelter in West Cornwall, CT.

"Connie's Piano Songs" Set for February 2014 Release

"Connie's Piano Songs," the debut recording of Connie Converse's compositions for voice and piano, will have its worldwide release on February 14, 2014.

Produced by Howard Fishman and featuring soprano Charlotte Mundy and pianist Christopher Goddard, the album is the 11th title on Fishman's MONKEY FARM RECORDS label and the first not to feature his own music.

The "BASEMENT TAPES" PROJECT Goes to Erie

Howard and the band recently performed a one-night-only version of the "Basement Tapes" Project at Mercyhurst Institute in Erie, PA.

Tickets have just gone on sale for Howard Fishman's NO FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS project in NYC, to be performed in tandem with author Michael Benanav on Thursday, November 21 at the Jewish Museum.

NO FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS is a multimedia song cycle centered around Howard Fishman's true-life adventures in rural Romania with his childhood friend (and New York Times travel journalist/photographer) Michael Benanav.  The project combines original music, historical memoir, storytelling and photography to essay their exploits together in far-flung Eastern Europe.
